One of the first things to write down is your expected salary. Why?
Because that's why you are doing this in the first place -- to provide a good
salary.
Don't be extravagant. Just figure out how much you need to survive
every month. Add up all your bills and financial obligations, your cost for
housing, food, health care, and clothing, and all other expenses you expect to
encounter over the next year. Then add a modest amount for savings and
entertainment.
The resulting amount is what you should put down as your salary. If
you make more than this, the world is great -- but get a clear picture
of how much income you need to survive personally before you begin.
